Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Hooray! It’s the 1st of April and this is not an April Fool’s joke. April’s an important month in my world.

My sister’s birthday, my cousin’s birthday, two of my closest friends’ birthdays, my birthday and my wedding anniversary all fall in April. Phew! It’s a crowded month.

I’ve never been good at celebrating my birthday. I get caught in the clutches of big emotions and stuck somewhere between wanting to celebrate wildly with friends and family, being overwhelmed by it all, and feeling like an attention-hog.

This year, I’m trying to flip the switch and embrace the joys. In honour of that, I’ve made a few changes around here. After many years of procrastinating, I finally anted up and paid for my domain name (asharajanwriter.com). That’s allowed me a little more freedom to play with layouts and greater flexibility with media that I can include. Check it out, have a poke around! I’ll be making changes and playing around with formats all through April.

As part of my celebrations, I’ll also be sharing blogs by writers I love and admire. The topics, themes and writing styles vary enormously, so you’re bound to find work that appeals to you too.
